About
La Cite du Vin, the wine culture museum that opened on Bordeaux's Right Bank in 2016, ends its visit route on the Belvedere, a glass-walled viewing room on the eighth floor, 35 metres up. A glass of wine included with the ticket is served there while visitors look out over the Garonne river, the Chaban-Delmas bridge and the rooftops of the Chartrons and Bacalan districts spreading toward the historic centre. The building itself, designed by XTU architects, has a swirling, riverine form meant to evoke wine being poured, and the Belvedere sits at its highest point.
